I found another wonderful example of unexpected creativity at the 2012 Fashion Exposition for Fashion Designer Jean-Paul Gaultier at the De Young Museum. These dresses, inspired by the Eiffel Tower in Paris, exhibit a mixture of not only the prized monument but a fresh take on women’s fashion.

When designing a dress, do not look at other dresses. Instead, look at the world around you for true inspiration. I could find millions of examples that show inspiration from art around us. Your job is to find what inspires you in the world around you and integrate it into your home, your color schemes, and your life.
