I believe that our surroundings profoundly affect our lives. Our homes are where we take care of ourselves, plan for our futures, and share moments with those we love. Our homes should not only be functional but reflect our diverse needs and push us towards a healthy and prosperous future.
That belief comes from the many places I’ve lived and the many roles I’ve held.
I’ve lived in Chile, France, and the United States, and I found something new and beautiful in every location. From the vibrant colors of Latin America to the ornate museums of Paris to the diverse styles of US homes, I have always been deeply inspired by architecture and great design.
I draw from those experiences and the real lives of my clients to create homes that relax, inspire, and energize. We draw our strength from our surroundings, and that makes a beautiful, well-designed home absolutely essential.
In 1982, I started a graphic design business specializing in magazines and book design. As Creative Director, I worked with editors, photographers, and illustrators to create a unique identity for each publication. My clients included Apple, IBM, Sybex, IDG, and others.
I used that experience as a springboard into other types of design and discovered my true love: residential interior design. In 2007, I received my certificate in Interior Architecture and Interior Design from UC Berkeley Extension and was certified by the California Council for Interior Design Certification (CCIDC).
Today, I create whole-house renovations, additions, accessory dwellings, kitchens, and bathrooms for homeowners in the San Francisco Bay Area and Sacramento. I work both independently and as a consultant for New Avenue Homes, a Berkeley design/build firm that is changing the face of housing with an innovative housing model.
